Steve Taylor Atlanta Concert reviews
Live Nation Disappoints
In Atlantic City, The Doobie Brothers put on a fantastic performance. Good solos, strong vocals, tight rhythm section, and good harmonies were highlights. Sound re-enforcement was lacking, with harmonies sometimes overshadowing the lead vocals. Russo's role in the band raised questions - lots of tricks and altissimo, but not a melodic player. Despite this, the band deserves an A+. They played with passion and dedication, closing their eyes to focus on the music.
Live Nation's disappointments continue. Paying over $600 for a ticket and a meet and greet left much to be desired. The meet and greet included a brief lecture on behavior, a quick hello with the musicians, rushed photos, and no time for meaningful questions about the music or band.
I'm growing wary of Live Nation as it appears they prioritize profits over everything else.
